Students got hands-on with electronics and robotics during the summer camp, building and testing circuits, assembling small robot models, working with a digital multimeter, and learning through trying, testing and improving their own builds.

A fully functioning, student designed and built electronic voting machine, used by MMS for school council elections (Head Boy, Head Girl and Sports Secretary), built to teach both the electronics and the civic process behind a real election.
Built around an ESP32 microcontroller with an MCP23017 I/O expander, the SEVS gives each voter one secure vote per category across 15 candidate buttons (3 categories × 5 candidates), with a 16×2 I2C LCD and buzzer for instructions and instant feedback, a green LED confirming each selection, and results logged to an SD card in CSV format with optional real time upload to Google Sheets over Wi-Fi. It runs on a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack for uninterrupted, portable use.

On election day, students from Classes 6 to 12 turned out to elect their new Head Boy, Head Girl and Sports Secretary — casting their vote on the very SEVS machine built by their seniors. Polling officers verified and inked each voter, candidates and staff oversaw the process at the polling booth, and the votes were tallied and cross checked before the results were declared. A proud moment for the whole school: leadership, courage and character, learned by living it.
