Parent Counselling

The most accurate predictor of a student’s achievement in school is not the family income or social status, but the extent to which that student’s family:

 Creates a home environment that encourages learning;
 Communicates high, yet reasonable, expectations for their children’s achievement and future careers;
 Is involved in their child’s education at school, in the family and community.

Parent counselling is a service that MMS provides with the experienced psychologists, child right activists to help parents become as successful as possible at raising their children. The parents bring in their own past experiences and possible issues which will probably affect their role as a parent and cause anxiety, frustration and a sense of being overwhelmed.

Parent Counselling is a way for parents to understand why they do the things they do and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. As the first teachers, parents need to realize that their children look to them for guidance. Parent counselling is a great way to provide techniques and give support to all parents that have issues around their role as a parent, and teach them the best ways to communicate with their children. MMS also organizes periodical ‘Art of Parenting’ workshops which are open to any interested parents to attend.

Note: Parents of children other than our school students can also approach us for support.
