The Three Purposes of Action Research:

1. Building the reflective practitioner
2. Making progress on school-wide priorities
3. Building professional cultures
Action Research: The Need of the Hour
If ever there were a time and a strategy that were right for each other, the time is now and the strategy is action research. This is true for a multitude of reasons,
with none more important than the need to accomplish the following:
Enhance the motivation and efficacy of teachers
Meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student body
Achieve success with standards based reforms
Schools that seize this opportunity and begin investing in Action Research will find that they are re-creating the professional practice of education as a
meaningful and rewarding pursuit.
Advantages of Action Research:
Empowers the participants
Relevant to the participants
Makes the participants effective
Provides evidence of the participants’ efforts
Research into education has a huge impact on the design of courses, curriculum development, and teacher training. Understanding the tremendous growth in the area of research, RICE MMS has a thoughtful approach to education, the challenges facing economically disadvantaged students and the role of schools within a community.
Researches by RICE MMS have improved the quality of the education provided and the impact of education in everyday life of our students.
RICE-MMS encourages the staff and other stakeholders to take up long term research in association with our Education Research Development and Training Unit(ERTDU).
